THE CHALLENGE.

This project was assigned to us as a chance for us to do-over a past piece of artwork that we created while in the art program. The challenge was for us to recreat this specific piece we chose and make it "better." We could approach it however we wanted and use whatever materials we wanted as long as it was somewhat still related to the original prompt of the piece we chose to "do-over."

INSPIRATION + RESEARCH.

The piece that I chose to recreate was the landscape piece I made in grade 10 using abstraction. This piece was not exactly my favourite and I felt like I could have done so much more. I decided to use a different material and approach it with a different style and theme that matched my graduating exhibit.

CHALLENGES

The journey to recreate the landscape piece was not devoid of challenges. Transitioning from the familiar to the unexplored realm of a different style and theme demanded meticulous planning and execution. Striking a harmonious balance between innovation and coherence proved to be a formidable task throughout the creative process.

FINAL RESULTSNGES

After a series of meticulous iterations and refinements, the culmination of my efforts yielded a remarkable outcome. The revised landscape piece not only encapsulated the essence of its predecessor but also served as a testament to personal growth and artistic evolution. By employing alternative materials and adopting a fresh approach, I succeeded in revitalizing the artwork, seamlessly aligning it with the overarching theme of my graduation exhibit. This project underscored the transformative potential inherent in the process of artistic reinvention.
